We are what we say, but also what we are silent about (NO)Book now
Bergen Dansesenter and BIT Teatergarasjen have invited choreographer Sigurd Johan Heide (The Cartel) and composer Snorre Bjerck to create a new performance for and with the ESC youth company for contemporary dance.
In this playful but demanding dance performance, the young dancers thematize how we people play and do things together. Here, grips from contemporary dance and elements from folk dance and sports play with a musical backdrop, which combines folk music, electronics and live percussion.
“We are what we say, but also what we are silent about” is a quote from the book Heaven and Hell by Jón Kalman Steffánsson. The title refers to how what we do does not always match what we say. It hints that it is impossible to know what kind of agenda another human being has.
There is both something dangerous and something hopeful in this that we do not necessarily understand each other.
