Album Release Concert with Benjamin Rajani
"Benjamin possesses a mood, a charm, and a fundamental musicality
Benjamin Rajani is a Faroese singer-songwriter known for his touching lyrics and captivating melodies. His music is characterized by Nordic melancholy, drawing inspiration from artists such as Sigur Rós and Neil Young.
In March 2025, Benjamin will release his debut album, "Tá hvørt ljós líkist tær" ("When Every Light Resembles You"). The album features 12 Faroese songs, three of which have already been released as singles: "Royni enn at gloyma" ("Still Trying to Forget"), "Mánakvøld" ("Monday Night"), and "Lívsins balkong" ("The Balcony of Life"). These singles have been well-received, leading to a feature in the prominent Danish music magazine GAFFA and an interview with airtime on DR P5.
This debut album is an ambitious project Benjamin has worked on for more than four years. It was produced in Copenhagen by the renowned Esben Svane (known for Kalaset, Hjalmer, Beinir). The songs explore themes such as love, nostalgia, friendship, and heartbreak. The music on the album has a distinct 1960s vibe, featuring string and brass arrangements inspired by The Beatles and The Beach Boys.
