Klingra

Klingra thrives from a foundation where everything nonessential has been cleared

The expansive and liberating nature of silence has proven highly fruitful for the band Klingra. Emerging from the group Afenginn in 2020, Klingra thrives from a foundation where everything nonessential has been cleared away.
In this way, Klingra creates its own space, where the members meticulously explore every corner. From this space, through cracks in the walls, emerges a soundscape—a fusion of atmospheric pop, classical, and electronic music.
The album ‘...eftir’, released in 2023, delves into the experiences of Dánjal's grandfather as a fisherman in Greenland and Føroyingahavn (Færingehavn) and also touches on the tragedy when 14 Faroese fishermen lost their lives off the west coast of Greenland in 1956. The album is an emotional journey from grief to gratitude. Through carefully recited poetic lyrics and moving recordings of Dánjal’s grandfather, ‘...eftir’ comes to life.
The concert is also part of a book release, ‘...droplets / dropar...’, a visually rich and captivating book accompanying the album ‘...eftir’. This 212-page book explores stories, memories, and landscapes connected to the Faroe Islands and Føroyingahavn in Greenland. Combining poetry, photography, personal narratives, and traditional Faroese recipes, the book offers readers a deeper insight into the culture and heritage that inspired Klingra’s music.
