This workshop is about Seaweed as a biological material and it’s sustainable, creative and natural potential, including seaweed as a food and as design. In this workshop participants can learn from Alberte and Agnes, how they work with the same material, but in a different way. The workshop is about:
Tari – Seaweed/ food + Taste
Learning about the seaweed biology (Agnes) + Agnes’s philosophy
Make biomaterials from Seaweed with Alberte (making seaweed yarn, seaweed textiles/leathers ) – learn about Alberte’s method and artistic practice while participating
Arts & science – Differences and similarities, experimental creative processes that both Agnes and Alberte encounter in their work with seaweed
Growing/harvesting vs finding/collecting, types of seaweed
Different ways of thinking around seaweed and sustainability: future potential, natural characters of the material, supplement / biomass as a whole, no exploitation of nature
